  • “I got the opportunity to work on a research project, which I thoroughly enjoyed as it was tailored to my own interests. This experience was engaging and enriching as I gained invaluable knowledge about the community in which I live, all while giving back. Volunteering with EV taught me about the organisation and operating in more professional environments while increasing my confidence and conscientiousness.”

  • “The partnership we have developed with the Eastern Volunteer Service has provided many great opportunities for our participants to experience volunteer work. Being involved in the volunteer training sessions was an excellent introduction and reinforced many of the skills and knowledge we focus on for future employment opportunities. Lily and Rachel have been so welcoming and supportive through the whole process. We look forward to continuing with this valuable partnership with the EV Service.”

  • “I have started volunteering at Eastern Volunteer since May 2021which is around Covid19 lockdown time. I started as a volunteer assessor and move on doing various task within the administration area as well. I enjoy working here due to my colleagues are all friendly and helpful and also we have a very good office. The job role is interesting and rewarding, I get to assist people with mental/physical disability and those who need assistance to assimilate back into the society.”

  • “I enjoyed the opportunity of connecting with a wide range of people and assisting them with learning English whilst I was learning about horticulture. I also felt a sense of achievement through helping others and I enjoying being part of a team of Volunteers. I was able to learn new skills and valued receiving positive feedback for my contribution. I also developed a greater awareness of the purpose of neighbourhood houses and how they relate to connecting people in community.”
